Recently, a delegation led by President Anar Naghiyev of Baku Slavic University in Azerbaijan visited Huzhou Normal University. President Sheng Kuang and Vice President Li Qingfeng attended the meeting, along with representatives from International Exchange and Cooperation Office and the School of International Studies.

　　During the meeting, President Sheng Kuang extended a warm welcome to President Naghiyev and the delegation. Giving an overview of Huzhou Normal University’s enrollment scale, distinctive features and its international development strategies, he noted that the university has always adhered to the principle of opening up in education and has established cooperative relationships with a number of high-level institutions overseas in recent years. He expressed the hope that the two universities would collaborate in areas such as faculty and student exchanges, academic exchanges, joint research, and the promotion of Chinese language education, building a bridge for cross-cultural communication to better benefit both faculties and students, and contributing wisdom and strength to the friendship and educational development between China and Azerbaijan.

　　President Naghiyev expressed his sincere gratitude for the university’s warm hospitality and introduced Baku Slavic University’s history, academic strengths and educational programs. He highly commended the university’s openness and achievements, noting that Baku Slavic University attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Chinese universities. He suggested that the two sides take language education and area studies as starting points, gradually advancing in-depth cooperation in areas such as faculty and student exchanges and joint talent cultivation, working together to promote academic collaboration in relevant fields and jointly enhance their level of international education.

　　During the meeting, the two sides conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as Chinese language teaching, faculty and student exchanges, and joint talent cultivation, reaching multiple cooperation intentions and consensus. A memorandum of cooperation was signed, laying a solid foundation for further in-depth collaboration.

　　Reportedly, Baku Slavic University, founded in 1946, is a well-known institution of higher education in Azerbaijan, with a core focus on Slavic languages and European language and culture studies. Baku Slavic University has been deeply engaged in educational exchanges with China, vigorously promoting Chinese language teaching, and has established long-term and friendly cooperative relationships with many Chinese universities.
