Recently, an event marking the 20th anniversary of city-university cooperation between Huzhou and Zhejiang University and the 4th Huzhou “Zhejiang University Alumni Day” was held at the Deqing International Conference Center. Ren Shaobo, Secretary of the Party Committee of Zhejiang University, and Chen Hao, Secretary of the CPC Huzhou Municipal Committee, attended the event and delivered remarks. Zhou Guofu, former Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference; Lian Kunming, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Huzhou Municipal Committee and Mayor of Huzhou; Sheng Kuang, President of Huzhou Normal University; and other leaders from Zhejiang University and Huzhou attended the event. During the event, Huzhou Normal University and Zhejiang University officially signed a framework cooperation agreement, opening a new chapter in in-depth cooperation between the two universities.

　　Wang Jingdai, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Zhejiang University Committee and Vice President of Zhejiang University, and Sheng Kuang, President of Huzhou Normal University, signed the agreement on behalf of the two universities. Guided by the principles of complementary strengths, win-win cooperation, and long-term development, the two universities will deepen practical cooperation in five key areas: talent cultivation, discipline development, faculty development, scientific research, and cadre development. Zhejiang University will leverage its comprehensive strengths to support Huzhou Normal University in strengthening discipline development, attracting and cultivating high-level talent, and developing research platforms. Huzhou Normal University, drawing on Huzhou’s local resources and strengths, will provide local support for Zhejiang University’s practice-based education and the local application and commercialization of scientific and technological achievements. Together, the two universities will contribute to strengthening higher education in Zhejiang and advancing the development of the province as a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

　　The event also saw the release of ten landmark achievements from 20 years of city-university cooperation, including Huzhou Normal University’s Institute of “Two Mountains” Theory, a new-type university think tank developed through university-local collaboration.The University will take the signing of the agreement as an opportunity to seize the important opportunities presented by the 20th anniversary of city-university cooperation, establish a joint meeting mechanism, and advance the implementation of the agreement item by item to ensure tangible results. It will strive to make breakthroughs in doctoral-level development and pursue excellence, accelerate the development of a high-level normal university, better serve the high-quality economic and social development of Huzhou, and make greater contributions to advancing a new chapter of Chinese modernization in Zhejiang.
